Governance

Mutual Trust’s governance structure is designed to ensure our clients’ interests are placed first, by providing a robust and comprehensive approach to effective decision making and oversight.

The board of nine non-executive directors provides strategic leadership across the business, working both collectively and through five committees to provide deeper analysis of five key areas:

  • Risk
  • Audit
  • Investment
  • People, Culture & Remuneration
  • Trustee Compliance

At a management level, the Chief Executive Officer heads a matrix based on geography and service line, with specialist heads accountable for client service and areas of technical excellence. A central Legal, Risk, Compliance and Governance function supports the Board and Leadership team and provides guidance and oversight across the business.

We are regulated by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC), the Australian Taxation Office (ATO), the Australian Transactions Reports and Analysis Centre (AUSTRAC), the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) and the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB), amongst others.
